Papers

The papers of Rae Linda Brown were acquired by the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives & Rare Book Library of Emory University, Atlanta GA, in October 2019.

The Rae Linda Brown Collection includes the research by Brown in writing the biography on Florence Price. A wealth of correspondence and lectures by Brown, original photographs of Price and her family, and original manuscripts of piano works by Price are included in this collection. This collection also features organ pieces by Black composers performed by Brown in her Master's recital, some of which are still unpublished.

The papers are now open and can be found at this link: http://pid.emory.edu/ark:/25593/vh2cm.

The Rae Linda Brown Collection was made possible by the Reverend Dr. Dwight Andrews and the late Dr. Pellom McDaniels III of Emory University. The Rose Library offers fellowships to short-term researchers of African-American history and culture; please click here for more information and application guidelines.
